Festival of Music
Each year, the St. George community choir hosts a Festival of Music. Not only does this serve as a fundraiser for the music ministry, but it provides an evening of fun and entertainment for the whole parish community at St. George. 2022
Following the pandemic, our Festival of Music theme was "St. George is Sunshine on a Cloudy Day". We featured songs about the weather and even had our own weather girl MC and newscaster. It was a reminder to all that sunshine always follows the rain.
2020
In 2020, our Festival of Music theme was "A Night at the Grammy's". We featured Grammy award-winning music and a red-carpet atmosphere. Our teen choir served as paparazzi. It was an evening worthy of our own custom award, the "Georgie".
2019
The 2019 festival of music theme was "Color Our World". We sang songs about colors or by "colorful" artists Even Father Juettner participated, wearing a coat of many colors. Our guests were invited to color on their own original St. George coloring books.
2018
"Love is in the Air" was the theme for 2018. We sang songs celebrating love. We decorated the walls with hearts that celebrated the children of St. George.
2017
In 2017, our theme was "Rockin' the '50's". Not only did the choir pay tribute to the great music from this decade, we invited the Minneapolis Police Swing Band to play for us at the end of the event. It was our best yet!
2016
In 2016, we were celebrating our centennial. So, our theme was "The Celebration of the Century". We played a song from each decade and even asked our audience to participate by answering St. George trivia questions. Our show was broken up by fun commercials sung by our teen choir. It was a show 100 years in the making!
2015
2015 was filled with unforgettable movie moments. All of the songs we sang were made famous from movies. Check out these pictures of our fav's!
2014
For 2014, we kicked up our heels with a "hoedown" theme! We had people's toes tapping and saying "hee-haw" while we performed our favorites from both country and western style music.
Pulled pork sandwiches and checkered tableclothes set the mood for a riotous show filled with memorable moments.
2013
In 2013, our theme was "Back to Broadway"! The choir paid homage to the legendary songs made famous by Broadway musicals.
The songs were fun and the evening was festive! We had set the bar high for the years to come.
